Transformation Talk: Perspectives of People and Place

November 22, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
This hybrid event will discuss the recent development of Respectful Travel Guidelines, Dreaming Roots, and Little Footprints Big Steps.

Join the Yukon First Nations Culture & Tourism Association as they speak to the recent development of Respectful Travel Guidelines, the production of Dreaming Roots, and how this work strives to transform a narrative, long been told from one perspective, into the stories and teachings that have been here for thousands of years.

Mary Jane Johnson (Kluane First Nation) will be joining us as part of the panel. She is an Elder who was involved in the development of the Respectful Travel Guidelines and she speaks very eloquently about the project.

The panel will also speak with Morgan Wienberg about her organization Little Footprints Big Steps, serving vulnerable children in Haiti and the new feature documentary Not About Me. Morgan will share her transformation since arriving in Haiti and what she would do differently 10 years later.
